Please don’t edit the sidebar lightly. Only do so if you are sure you know what you are doing and have been authorized to make the changes planned. Only Fay, Alex, and Eric are currently able to edit the sidebar.
Our sidebar is actually what WordPress calls a widget area. (In fact, there are other widget areas in our theme that we don’t use.) To change a widget area you must “customize” the website. There are several ways to start customizing, but the simplest is by using the customize icon link in the bottom right corner of any page (once you are logged in).
From “Customize” choose “Widgets” and then “Main Sidebar.” Add new widgets with the “Add a Widget” button. The Text widget can be particularly helpful, since it lets you put arbitrary text onto the sidebar.
Any time you change the configuration of a particular widget, you should save those changes by clicking the “Publish” button at the top of the “customize” sidebar.
